Staines-upon-Thames - Island Close (Surrey)

Richard wrote to say "This giant sequoia is located in Staines-upon-Thames situated at the back of Island Close on the banks of the River Thames. I must admit identifying this tree has confused me as the trunk splits off into four or five stems, although the bark is soft. I'd be interested to know what this tree is if it is not a giant sequoia." Thanks for the photograph Richard and I can understand your confusion but occasionally I have seen these trees with trunks that split into several stems, probably as a result of damage or being cut off when younger.
