Thanks to Owen from The Tree Registry for sending the above photographs of "the Giant Sequoia in my own garden here in St Leonards-on-Sea, East Sussex. It's not a big tree in national terms, but as I grew up with it (literally) it's probably done more than anything else to turn me towards a career in trees, so I'd love it if you could find room for it on your website. It was planted by my Great-Grandfather about 90 years ago, and was one of the reasons why my late parents decided to purchase part of the land. It's too near the sea to have grown very tall - Giant Sequoias hate coastal exposure - but the girth is still increasing fast. It's now 23m tall and 530cm girth."

A lovely example of a Giant Sequoia (Giant Redwood/Wellingtonia) and it must be gratifying to be able to stand under the shade of a tree that you grew up with and was planted by your Great-Grandfather.
