Jerry writes "The Chanctonbury Coast I found by chance on a walk last Boxing day. It can be seen from a path that leads off to the left from the bottom of the main path that leads to Chanctonbury Ring, near Steyning. The second Coast is nearby on the lower slopes of the hill. It's rather sparse, probably as a result of being crowded by surrounding trees. I had to find some dropped foliage to confirm its identity, as the lowest branches were far too high to reach or see properly."

Thanks again Jerry, Coast Redwood are much harder to find than Giants. The sparseness of the second tree is very probably due to overcrowding, as you say. It could have been overlooked but for your search for its foliage.
