Thanks to David for writing to let us know about Giant Sequoia in Wyresdale Park in Scorton. David wrote; "It's a former stately home which is used for weddings and functions nowadays. There is a nice cafe in the former grounds called the Applestore cafe which is popular in the area. There is a pretty impressive tree right next to the kiddies play area! Leading on from the play area is a small walk through a wooded area which contains good size Giant Sequoia. There's a good size Giant Sequoia in the grounds on the driveway up to the house and a large one on the lawn facing the house."
David added; "There is a good size pair on the woodland trail (note my partner Michelle at the base of the left hand tree for size comparison) and more just off the woodland trail. I must say the trees appear to be of a similar size and appear healthy enough. There has been some thinning of the undergrowth in the wooded area, mainly the invasive rhododendrons seem to have been removed."
