Grandtully - A827 (Perthshire)

Giant Redwood - September 2008

Tam sent this photograph of a Giant Sequoia in Grandtully. He says that he "found this Giant Sequoia when driving through Grandtully. It is in the back garden of a house named 'Port Na Sallan'. Unfortunately there was no-one in when I knocked the door to make enquiries. From the photo's you will see that it is enormous, I had a rough measure of it at 8.8m in diameter at 5ft from the ground. Now it becomes clearer why the call Perthshire 'Big Tree Country'."
