Thanks to Kaleem who wrote to share this picture "of my Redwood which is located in my garden. I have been in this house since 2006 and was informed by the previous owner that he planted the tree from seed in 1977 after a holiday to California where he purchased the seed. Makes the tree 43 years old, it is already the tallest tree I have seen in my area and it’s absolutely beautiful and I am truly blessed to draw my blinds every morning to such a beautiful sight. The tree is located in Hale Barns a suburb of Altrincham (WA15 0AU), this falls within both Greater Manchester and Cheshire, your site only has 4 trees listed in Greater Manchester and 3 in Cheshire, so they are few and far between in the local vicinity. No doubt others may exist which are not on your site." My first reaction on seeing your Redwood was wow what a fabulous tree! It's a lovely shape and looks in beautiful condition. It's great also to know the history of the tree's planting, this is so often lost particularly with the older trees planted in the Victorian era.
