Giant Redwood - Summer 2007
Thanks to Onne who sent the above photograph of a Giant Redwood in Old Bridge of Urr. Onne says "I came across this sequoia tree (or sequoiadendron, I am not quite sure) last Summer (2007), while I was visiting someone in Scotland. I did not take any measurements as the tree stood in a rather awkward position.

The tale behind this notable tree is mostly unknown to me. I will tell what I know. The tree is owned by two kind old people, living in Old Bridge of Urr, in the Dumfries and Galloway area. Their estate was called Croys House, it’s a Bed and Breakfast. I believe the tree is close to a hundred years old at this moment, as it is yet thin compared to the other sequoia trees I have seen in Castle Douglas (a town nearby Croys House)."
