| The picture shows one of several Giant Redwoods in Salisbury Crematorium, London Road and if you look carefully you might notice that this fine specimen has split into two trunks from about two-thirds of the way up. This sometimes happens as a result of storm damage, but if anyone knows the history of this tree we would be pleased to hear from them. The cemetery is on the North East outskirts of the city and was opened in 1960. It occupies a site of 6.5 acres, with the grounds laid out as lawns and gardens. |

| Thanks to Matt who sent "these photos of another redwood in the Salisbury - London Rd Cemetery taken 31st May 2022. I thought it was kind of cool to see the split from this angle! Found some seeds from cones at its base, not much hope for them but fingers crossed :) Co-ordinates: (51.0794838 -1.7832011) from google satellite view" Thanks Matt, it is interesting to see the split in the trunk. I hope you have some luck with the seeds that you gathered. |
