A helpful resident informed us that these two Giant Redwood trees were once part of the estate to the house that he believed was called Ducketts Lodge. The building has since been demolished and a new housing estate built some time around 1969. One is in front of a block of flats, this tree was hit by lightning some time around 1998 but seems to have made a good recovery. The other tree is within a parcel of land around a section of the River Stort that the residents rather shrewdly purchased from the developer. |
