Inchture - Primary School(Perthshire)

Giant Redwoods - November 2017

Thanks to Tam for sending the location and photographs of an avenue of Giant Redwood trees adjacent to the Primary School in Inchture. Tam says he had "been today to Perthshire to a small village called Inchture. It is 11 miles from Perth itself on the A90. While there I found this incredible avenue of Sequoias, 25 on one side, 16 on the other. 41 in total. There is also a plaque showing the Perthshire Journal from August 1853 telling of Sequoias being planted all throughout Perthshire." In March, the Perth and Kinross Countryside Trust (PKCT) planted two new young Giant Redwoods at this site as part of their 10th Anniversary celebrations, and a new project was set up to record and protect Perthshire's Giant Redwood trees.
