Thanks to Eddie for these photographs of the Coast Redwoods in Ross Hall Park, Glasgow. He wrote; "Ross Hall grounds were part of Ross Hall house built in 1877 and there's historic landscaping (now badly neglected since the council bought the land and turned it into a public park). I think there may be more in the park, based on the trunks / bark. Can such trees be given protection or some kind of conservation status, if not already in place?" Thank you for letting me know about the Redwoods in Ross Hall Park. They are relatively rare trees and of reasonable age, so someone could apply to the council tree warden to have a Tree Preservation Order applied to them. |
