Kibworth Beauchamp - Smeeton Road Park (Leicestershire)

Chris wrote to say; "On my usual dog walk around my village, I came across what I believe are a pair of giant sequoia right next to the entrance to my local park. I hope I have not misidentified these trees and that you can confirm they are the real deal. I have included a picture of the a fallen cone but, unfortunately, as they are on private property I was not able to get a very close picture of the foliage. They are located either side of a driveway at a property right next door to the entrance of Smeeton road park in Kibworth Beauchamp, Leicestershire." Thanks Chris for letting us know about these two fine looking Giant Sequoia (Sequoiadendron giganteum). The cones give oconfirmation of the tree's identity, those dimples are unique to these trees!
