Woodwalton - Monks Wood (Cambridgeshire)

Opposite the entrance to the Centre for Ecology & Hydrology at Monks Wood stand these three young Giant Redwood. Unfortunately an opportunity to measure them and mark their positions did not arise on this visit. It appears that the Centre is closing soon. It is one of four sites that fell under the axe of a restructuring programme. The remaining sites at Bangor, Edinburgh, Lancaster and Wallingford will continue research in the fields of Biodiversity, Water, Biogeochemistry, Climate Change and Sustainable Economies.
