Thanks to Caryle who sent this photograph of a Giant Redwood in St Bernard's Grammar School in Langley Road.

The main part of the school building was built in the mid 19th century for a lady in waiting to Queen Victoria. The lady in waiting lost the property when she "disgraced herself by marrying an apparently younger and less wealthy man". How times have changed! It was later used as a convent for nuns of the Bernardine order who left the school recently, in 2006, when it became officially known as St Bernard's Catholic Grammar.
