Giant Redwood - January 2022

Giant Redwood - January 2022
Thanks to Aidan for sending these two photographs of Redwoods at Albury Park, near Shere in Surrey.

He wrote; "Albury Park was once the home of the 16th century writer John Evelyn. Almost all of the land here is private but there are a number of footpaths running though the estate and there are places with de facto access to the fantastic trees. The redwoods are all in the private garden but viewable from public access. There is an arboretum with many large and rare trees and it has occasional open days (check the National Garden Scheme). The surrounding parkland has a large population of ancient oak and chestnut trees, including I believe the fattest oak in Surrey. If you are a tree lover I recommend giving Albury Park a visit.
