Thanks to Tom for the above photographs of a Giant Redwood at Thornbury Hospital. Tom says "It is 5.45metres girth at 1.50m. Thornbury was built by Frederick Mappin, of Mappin and Webb (Silversmiths) fame in the 1850's. It is now a BMI Private hospital. I assume it was planted then and is 150 years old." |
