Phil sent another two of his plantings that are in St. Peter's Park, Northop CH7 6YU. Location N53.2051 W3.1303. Both Redwoods were planted on a mound because of swampy ground. He wrote, The Sequoiadendron giganteum seed came from Barilli and Biagi, Bologna, Italy, sown late 1970's and planted in early 1980's. The interesting feature of this tree is the two horizontal branches which have enormous depth and narrow width. The centre of these limbs will be very near the top and they have developed butrices in the bole to support their weight. |
