David wrote to tell about two Giant Redwood trees "in the grounds of the Royal Albert Hospital on Ashton Road, which is a former asylum but now utilised as an Islamic school for girls called Jamea Al Kauthar. They appear fairly young and are maybe 40ft high? They have the soft spongy bark and appear in good health. " Thanks David for letting us know about these fairly young specimens in Lancaster.
