Kirkliston - Newliston House (Lothian)

Giant Redwood - March 2013

Thanks to Chris for the above photograph of a Giant Redwood in Kirkliston. Chris wrote; "I spotted this example when cycling through the grounds of Newliston House, a Grade C listed building near Kirkliston Edinburgh EH29 9EB. It is the tallest of three or four such trees to be found there. Newliston was one of Robert Adams (1728-1792) latest houses and one of his smallest. Grid reference is NT113734 OS Sheet 65. The house and gardens are open for visits:- 1 May–4 June: Wednesday–Sunday, 2–6pm. Also by appointment."
