Inistioge - Woodstock House and Gardens (County Kilkenny)

"Planted by William & Edward Tighe on their first visit to Woodstock October 1869"

Damian sent these photographs of Redwoods in Woodstock, Inistigoe. He wrote to say "I visited there with my Nephew Hugh, who is in one of the photos. One of the photos shows a plaque marking the planting of a redwood in October 1869! They are all coast redwoods planted in Woodstock. The Tighe family (they planted the trees), once owned the estate but they are gone for over 100 years now. See the history on Wikipedia.org. I really like Redwoods and have planted over 15 to date around my farm in south County Carlow. It would be great if you could get the attached photos up on your website, as it would be nice to see more from Southern Ireland up there. There are quite a few redwoods in the south east at least to my knowledge." Thanks Damian, consider it done!
