Thanks to Asimina who wrote to say "From Hambledon, Buckinghamshire you can see this avenue end on. An untidy arrangement it consists of a mix of about 12 Sequoiadendron giganteum and more Pinus sylvestris planted in an alternate pattern. Most are over 100 years old and there are big spaces but there is some new planting of both species at different stages. The avenue points at St Mary's church in Hambledon, it starts on a steep slope and continues down the other side of the hill. The largest girth I measured was 6.48m." |
