Giant Redwood - February 2007
Thanks to Gareth for the photographs and information about a Giant Redwood tree in the grounds of Thorpe House on the A672 between Ripponden and Halifax in West Yorkshire.

Gareth says, "As you can see it towers above the house in the background. I have tried to research the area and haven't had much success so far, all I know is that Thorpe House (on whose grounds this tree stands) was built in 1804 and was at one time officers quarters for the Royal Engineers. It stood empty for a while and was then used as a home for the elderly but that was shut down in 1994."
