Giant Redwood Tree No. 1 - September 2025

Giant Redwood Tree Nos. 2 & 3 - September 2025
These trees were a lucky find in Fordham, they were spotted rising over the roof tops whilst returning from a short walk elsewhere in the town. It took some effort to track them down as they were in a small wood that was tucked away within clusters of housing. Judging by the considerable girth and height, they are probably among the earliest plantings in the country. Two of the trees, although included here are not actually in the wood, but were just a couple of feet inside an adjacent garden.

Curiously, two of the trees in the woods and the two in the adjacent garden were planted just three or four metres apart; rather close considering they would grow into huge trees.
