Thanks to Crystal for sending the baove photograph of "two Sequoiadendron Gigantenums at Pinces Gardens Allotments in St Thomas, Exeter. These trees were planted when the land was part of the Luccombe & Pince Nursery grounds; the nursery responsible for creating the Luccombe Oak, Quecus x hispanica. The land was bought by the Council in 1912 so the trees are at least 100 years old. Google says that the location is… 50° 42' 35.30", -3° 32' 25.45" A chance to grow your own veg while enjoying the view of two Giant Redwood trees! |
