Coast Redwood - April 2000

Alastair wrote to tell us about some Coast Redwood trees on the Glenstriven Estate. The first photograph he sent (not included) showed a Coast Redwood crowded by other trees and fairly obscured. He then sent the above photograph that shows the glorious colors of trunk in sunlight and he helpfully included a picture that illustrates some of the tree's foliage. He also said "I think I've identified another younger/smaller redwood." and "There are quite a few Western Red Cedars and Western Hemlock also, plus seriously big Douglas firs and Scots Pines."
