Tam says he "came across a good number of Giant Sequoias this weekend not the least of which were two in Dumfries. They are at the end of Criffel Avenue in a park which borders Lincluden Collegiate Church c1400s. The church itself is a ruin left so by the Scottish Reformation in 1560." Thank you Tam. As you said before there is often a good deal of history attached to the kind of places that these trees are often planted.
