Thanks to Helen who told us of another Giant Redwood location in Chislehurst and provided us with these details. She wrote; "This tree is located on the north side of Sundridge Avenue on a property with the name Coopers which is very close to the "Hillbrow" 314 bus stop. Hillbrow is actually a side road on the opposite (south) side of Sundridge Avenue and is to the east of Coopers. Coopers is almost opposite Westbury Road and is also a little to the east of and on the opposite side of the road from the Ripley Arts Centre, which is a large Victorian building. I am quite excited by this tree, which shows similarities with the Foxhome Close Redwood tree, although it is not as large. It does not have a Tree Preservation Order documented on the London Borough of Bromley website. Ironically, I have been using Sundridge Avenue on a regular basis for 20 years and never noticed this tree until becoming interested in Redwood World. It is clearly visible from the road, particularly when travelling west, where there is a direct view up the Coopers driveway to it. It is close to the fence separating Coopers from the neighbouring property to the west, which is named Redlap." |
