Peter wrote with news of a "possible young giant redwood on Victoria embankment, opposite Blackfriars station. I couldn’t get close to see the foliage, but the shape and the way the foliage points up at the end is classic giant behaviour I think. It's so refreshing to know that these fabulous non-invasive specimen trees are still being planted by local councils in the U.K. even in London! This is especially after all the furore about native trees only. It's so peculiar to value diversity in people but not in the trees we plant!
