Scott sent in some fabulous photographs of Hockeridge Woods in 2017.
He wrote; "There is an avenue of Giant Sequoia leading to a grove, and also a small grove of Dawn Redwood and a grove of Coast Redwood."
Scott also sent some information: "Apparently the wood was owned by Mary Wellesley, a direct descendent of the Duke of Wellington, and she gifted the woods to the Royal Forestry Society in 1986. In 2015 a new Giant Sequoia was planted by Mary Wellesley to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the battle of Waterloo. A map of the woods can be found on the RFS website, showing the positions of the different types of trees throughout the woodland. "
Thank you Scott, it sounds like heaven for any Redwood enthusiast!
Thanks also to Alison who wrote in 2007 to let us know about this avenue of Redwoods in Hockeridge Woods off Johns Lane.

We just had to add this excellent photograph of the Coast Redwoods that Jon took in Hockeridge Woods in Autumn 2020.

He wrote; "We have just got back from visiting Berkhamsted Hockeridge Woods.
It was a lovely walk and the Redwoods there are amazing!
We live near the Gobions Wood in Brookmans Park where there are several costal Redwoods so it was very exciting to see Dawn Redwoods.
"

Jon has also grown some Coastal Redwoods from seed which you can see on the Tall Tales page
