It is easy to think of Beaulieu as just being a museum for old cars. Not so, however, for as well as holding a good deal of history of England through the war years and some railway history, there are a number of fine Giant Redwood trees. The grounds hold four mature Wellingtonia (some of which are superb examples) and there are several youngsters of around ten to fifteen feet in height. If you get the opportunity to visit Beaulieu, have an ice-cream while sitting on the wooden seat built around one of the trees near the playground, then take time to walk around the grounds, you will find it very enjoyable.
