Giant Redwood - July 2021
Ellie and her friend Fiona are standing beside the Wellingtonia at Park Farm in Assington.

Ellie wrote; "The Assington Wellingtonias were probably planted on the Assington Estate around the middle of the 19th century when they became available and in the wake of Capability Brown’s ideas on landscape gardening. There are certainly two at Assington Hall in addition to the one at Park Farm. It is thought that there was one in the garden at Hill Farm but that it that it blew over in a gale and was felled in case it hit the house."
