Giant Redwood - March 2021

Giant Redwood - March 2021
Thanks to Don for this set of photographs of "ten Redwoods in Grimsdyke Open space in Harrow Weald. Here is a link to the nearby Grim's Dyke Hotel website.

The girth of one of trees just near the driveway of the hotel on the right is about 8 metres which surely would make it older than 150 years indicated in local history?
"

Eight metres girth (measured by Don in 2021) is certainly very impressive.
The earliest that these trees were planted in the U.K. was around the 1850's, so 150-170 years seems about right.
Given the right conditions they can grow really fast!
