Thanks to Rachel for these great blue sky photographs of a Giant Redwood in Boars Hill. Rachel wrote to ask which particular type of Redwood she has in her garden. She wrote "I would be very interested to hear which type you think it is, or perhaps you require further information to identify it." Your tree is a Giant Redwood (aka Giant Sequoia, or Wellingtonia). The scientific/latin name for it is Sequoiadendron giganteum. It looks a lovely and impressive specimen.
